Flutes fly, trombones tango and drums dance when these nationally acclaimed ‘musictellers’ from Evansville, Indiana weave original stories, instrumental music and creative movement into a unique experience for children and family audiences. Tales & Scales puts music and story in motion for arts centers, festivals, with symphony orchestras and in school residencies allowing children (of all ages) to “see” with their ears, “hear” with their eyes and discover the true power of music.

Since its inception in 1986, Tales & Scales has served children and family audiences at home in the tri-state area as well as across the United States. Each year the Tales & Scales tours in 12-18 different states, giving over 200 performances for more than 200,000 children and families.

Having appeared with the Boston Symphony, the Chicago Symphony, the Atlanta Symphony, the St. Louis Symphony and the Orgeon Symphony, Tales & Scales has also performed at the Annenberg Center, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Smithsonian Institution's Discovery Theatre, the Kravis Center, the Krannert center and the New Victory Theater.

When not on stage, Tales & Scales provides workshops tailored to the specific needs of students, educators, and musicians in primary grades through university level programs...all designed to ignite imaginations and bring creativity through the arts into every child's life.
