IGNITING IMAGINATIONS

Camp Imagination

Tales & Scales, in partnership with the University of Evansville’s Department of Music, brings you Camp Imagination! Now in its 15th year, Camp Imagination offers Tri-State youth the opportunity to expand their creative horizons by providing a week-long experience with theater, music & creative movement.

Camp Schedule
This year Session I will be held 9:00 am - 4:00 pm daily from July 7th to July 11th. Session II will be held 9:00 am - 4:00 pm daily from July 14th to July 18th. Both 2008 Sessions will take place on the University of Evansville Campus at the Krannert Hall of Fine Arts & the Wheeler Concert Hall. Extended care is available from 7:30 am to 9:00 am and from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
Camp Program
Based upon our nationally-acclaimed student workshops, Camp Imagination offers children ages 6-12 a unique opportunity to explore the world of performing arts by participating in daily games and activities led by Tales & Scales artists. Campers are encouraged to become Musictellers themselves, creating and performing with other campers as they gain experience and skills in creative problem solving, self-expression, self-confidence, and teamwork.
Mini-Camp
Pre-school Mini-Camp is designed specially for 4 & 5 year old campers. Mini-Camp runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 12:00 noon. Just like regular campers, Mini-Campers will receive a camp t-shirt, photo and mid-morning snack. Mini-Campers will perform their own Mini-Musictale on the last day. Extended care for Mini-Campers is available from 7:30 am to 9:00 am. Mini-Campers must be picked up by 12:00 noon.
Camp Musictellers
Camp Imagination provides a unique opportunity for children in the Tri-State area to learn about the art of Musictelling that was developed right here in Evansville. Through up close and personal collaboration with Tales & Scales Musictellers, they will experience first hand the thrill of bringing their own creative works to life!
Campers
Campers must be ages 6-12 and have completed Kindergarten. Mini-Campers must be age 4 or 5 by July 1, 2008. All materials are provided by Camp Imagination. A mid-morning snack will be offered to all campers. Regular campers are expected to bring their own lunch and drink each day (no nut products, please). Campers should wear loose fitting play clothes and must wear lace up shoes only (no flip flops).
